Dental bridges are natural-looking dental appliances that fill the spaces created by one or two missing teeth. We custom-make dental bridges that look completely natural and restore the proper bite relationships between your upper and lower teeth. We bond dental bridges over existing teeth and use false teeth known as “pontics” to fill the spaces. We make dental bridges using a variety of materials such as porcelain, gold alloys or combinations of materials.
Dental crowns, or caps, are individual tooth restorations we place over damaged teeth to restore their function and appearance, typically after another restorative procedure such as root canal therapy. When decay becomes so advanced that a large portion of a tooth must be removed, we use a dental crown to restore and protect the tooth. We also place crowns on new dental implants to complete the implant restoration.
Root canals are tiny passageways that carry nerves from just below the tops of your teeth downward until they reach the bottom tips of the roots. Each of your teeth has between one and four root canals. When an infection or traumatic injury spreads to the pulp, the inner chamber of the tooth containing blood vessels and nerves, it can also infect the roots and cause enough pain and sensitivity to prevent you from eating.
Root canal therapy enjoys a very high rate of success. It removes the diseased tissue, halts the spread of infection and restores the tooth to health. In fact, root canal therapy was originally designed to save problem teeth and avoid the only other alternative: extraction.
